We accept referrals exclusively from licensed medical professionals for patients residing within the Interior Health region.
To ensure efficient processing, a complete referral must include:
A formal referral letter
The patient's most recent blood work and lab results
Reports from relevant investigations and prior consultations
All referrals are triaged based on clinical urgency and specialist availability.
Our clinic offers in-person, virtual and telephone consultations.
Important: Please be aware that the physician's call may come from a "Blocked" or "No Caller ID" number.
If you would prefer an in-person consultation, please inform our administrative staff when booking your appointment.
Preparing for Your Appointment:
Medication List: Please prepare a list of your current medications, including dosages, to have ready for your appointment.
Advance Blood Work: You may be asked to complete blood work prior to your visit. It is important to complete these tests as requested to ensure the results are available for the hematologist to review during your appointment, as some tests require significant processing time.
During Your Appointment:
The hematologist will conduct a thorough review of your medical history, discuss the symptoms related to your referral, and analyze your investigation results.
Potential Outcomes:
Following your assessment, a personalized care plan will be developed. This plan may include one of the following pathways:
Ongoing follow-up with the hematologist for further investigation or treatment.
Returning to the care of your referring physician or primary care provider.
A referral to BC Cancer for specialized management, if required.
